Stuart Taylor formed this office of Hall Needham Associates and shortly after took on David Shrimpton who was made an associate of the practice several years later. John Hall and Roger Needham ceased to be partners in 1984 and became consultants while pursuing private practice interests in their own separate ways. Several years later John Hall ceased to be a consultant and retired, whereas Roger Needham remains an active consultant of Hall Needham Associates. Howard Bugg ceased to be a partner in 1999 but remains a consultant and David Shrimpton became a partner. The practice continues with Trevor Sheldon as partner in Sheffield. Ken Waddington is partner in Oldham with Keith Jackson an associate. Stuart Taylor and David Shrimpton are partners in Thame. Workload is varied, with one branch or other of the practice being experienced in most of the major fields of architectural work. The useful geographic spread of the three offices, the combined and differing expertise of the partners and staff (all partners being 'hands on') and the long experience of the partners are seen as major practice attributes. Other advantages include the ability of one office to draw on resources of the other offices, as required.
